Kathleen Laura Ranft, a 29-year-old mother of three, was last seen on April 5, 1985, in Seguin, Texas. That evening, she left her job at Lippe Tire Center around 5:50 p.m. and later headed to the Country Cabaret, a local nightclub, around 9:00 p.m. for a night of dancing. Her husband, from whom she was separated at the time, mentioned seeing her before she left for the club. However, she never returned home and has not been heard from since.
Her 1980 Chevrolet Citation was discovered abandoned in the nightclub's parking lot the following morning, but there were no signs of her. Kathleen’s employer reported her missing when she failed to show up for work the next day. At the time of her disappearance, she was in the midst of a divorce, adding to the complex nature of her case. Although no body has been found, investigators suspect foul play and believe she may have been a victim of homicide.
