Samuel Ray Rawls, a 16-year-old boy from San Antonio, Texas, went missing on February 27, 1988. He was last seen after mowing the lawn and telling his mother that he was going to meet friends. He took his bicycle with him, and though his bike was later found at his home, Samuel never returned. Prior to his disappearance, Samuel had experienced some difficulties in life, including a brief stint in a juvenile detention facility following a burglary conviction.
His mother reported that he had been trying to turn his life around after his release in November 1987.
At the time of his disappearance, Samuel was described as being 6'2", 150 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a black and white pullover jacket, Levi's jeans, and white Kaepa shoes. He also had a silver ring with a turquoise stone shaped like a marijuana leaf. He had some distinct physical characteristics, including a protruding collarbone and a scar above his navel.
Samuel was known to be interested in sketching and acting and had expressed a desire to become an artist. There are suspicions that foul play may have been involved in his disappearance, and it was reported that he may have been involved with a satanic cult, a concern raised by his mother. Despite these speculations, his case remains unsolved to this day. Investigators and his family continue to seek answers, with authorities encouraging anyone with information to come forward.
