He left his home around 6:30 p.m. that evening, stopping at a convenience store before heading to the party, where he arrived between 9:30 and 10:00 p.m. Witnesses at the party later reported that Randy appeared disoriented and was acting as if he were intoxicated, though he told a friend he didn’t know what was wrong.
The last confirmed sighting of Randy was around 2:15 a.m., when he was reportedly waiting to use the restroom. His car, a gray 1985 Dodge 600, was also missing. Despite extensive searches, neither Randy nor the car has ever been found. His parents became concerned when he missed his curfew and filed a missing person report the next day. The party location had been cleaned up by the time police arrived, making it difficult to gather any evidence.
Over the years, various rumors and theories have circulated, including speculation that Randy may have been drugged or that foul play was involved.
