Della Marie Hillard, a 32-year-old woman, was last seen on May 3, 1988, in Houston, Texas. That evening, she spoke to a friend around 8:30 p.m., stating she was about to go to bed. The following morning, her boyfriend visited her home but found it empty. He later reported her missing when he learned she had not shown up for work.
Della’s car, a 1979 AMC Spirit sedan, was discovered abandoned the next day at an apartment complex about a mile from her home.
The car appeared ransacked, with her purse missing, and there were traces of blood on the back and side of the vehicle. However, her apartment showed no signs of a struggle, although some windows were left open, which was reportedly a common habit of hers.
