Astor Johnson Southerland, age 79, went missing from Kenansville, North Carolina, on October 30, 1990. He was a retired truck driver who suffered from Alzheimer's disease, which played a significant role in his disappearance. Southerland was last seen by a passerby walking along a rural road, Secondary Road 1104, heading west. He had left his home earlier that day and never returned. Extensive searches were conducted, but no substantial leads emerged regarding his whereabouts.
