In the winter of 1990, a 31-year-old woman named Julie Lynn Moranda vanished from Yakima, Washington. She was last seen on December 19, 1990, in the parking lot of the Yakima Sports Center. On that day, Julie was observed getting into a vehicle with a driver who has never been identified. At the time of her disappearance, Julie was described as a white female with brown hair, which she might have dyed red, and blue or hazel eyes. She stood between 5'0" and 5'2" and weighed between 125 and 140 pounds. Distinctive features included several tattoos: a rose on her left breast, a partial rose on her right breast, the letter 'D' on her left hand, and the letter 'J' with a small square on her right hand. Known by the nickname "Julie," she was known to use aliases and was struggling with drug addiction at the time she went missing. The circumstances surrounding Julie's disappearance are troubling and have left her family and investigators with few answers. She was known to be involved in sex work and was an intravenous drug user, which may have increased her vulnerability. Tragically, Julie has not been seen or heard from since that day in the parking lot. The lack of contact and the nature of her lifestyle at the time have led authorities to classify her as an endangered missing person. The fact that another woman disappeared from the very same area just a month after Julie vanished has raised concerns about a possible connection between the cases. Over the years, a potential link to a notorious serial killer has emerged in Julie's case. Authorities have considered the possibility that her disappearance could be connected to Robert Lee Yates Jr., also known as the Spokane Serial Killer. Yates was active in Washington during the 1990s and targeted women, many of whom were sex workers. While he was convicted of numerous murders, he has never been officially charged in connection with Julie's disappearance. The investigation into what happened to Julie Moranda remains open. Despite the passage of time, the case is an active and unresolved missing person investigation, leaving a painful void for those who knew her.
