On December 27, 1991, four-year-old Amanda Nicole Campbell, known as "Nikki," disappeared from her neighborhood in Fairfield, California. That afternoon, she left her home on a bicycle, intending to visit a friend’s house just a few doors away. Despite being close to her destination, Amanda never arrived. Her bicycle was later found abandoned a few blocks from her home, but there was no sign of her.
A massive search ensued, including the use of bloodhounds that tracked her scent from the area near her home to a McDonald's drive-thru, and then onto a westbound ramp of Interstate 80. Authorities believe Amanda was likely abducted, possibly pulled into a vehicle at Larchmont Drive and Salisbury Drive. The case has been treated as a non-family abduction, but despite extensive efforts, Amanda was never found.
Over the years, several potential suspects were considered in connection to Amanda’s case, including known offenders Timothy Bindner and Curtis Dean Anderson, though neither was charged. In 2023, another possible suspect, former pastor David Zandstra, was investigated but ultimately cleared. Amanda's case remains unsolved, and foul play is suspected due to the nature of her disappearance.
