Mark Edward Tomich, a 28-year-old organic chemist, was last seen on March 5, 1992, in Indianapolis, Indiana. That morning, he followed his usual routine, leaving his home around 6:15-6:30 a.m. to head to his job at Eli Lilly & Co. However, he never arrived at work, and when his brother reported him missing later that day, Tomich's white 1990 BMW was found locked and parked at the Eli Lilly parking garage.
Unusually, the car was not in his typical parking spot, as he usually arrived early to secure a prime spot.
Before his disappearance, Tomich withdrew approximately $7,000 from his savings account in early February, but it remains unclear if this was related to his case. Described as punctual and a man of regular habits, Tomich had no known personal or professional issues, making his disappearance even more perplexing. He had scars on his left arm and upper lip, as well as hair implants at his temples.
