They were last seen leaving their home in Lithia, Florida, with plans to visit a shopping center in nearby Brandon. Bonnie was driving her silver Dodge Caravan and intended to meet with a man she had been seeing, though his identity remains unknown. The shopping center was located at the intersection of Lumsden Road and Lithia Pinecrest.
Bonnie’s van was found abandoned in the parking lot later that evening. Inside, investigators found her purse with $75 in cash and Jeremy’s diaper bag, but notably, Jeremy’s car seat was missing.
In the days leading up to their disappearance, Bonnie had withdrawn a significant amount of money—$15,075—from her bank account and handed it to a man suspected to be connected with her disappearance. This man, though under suspicion, has not been publicly identified or charged. At the time, Bonnie had inherited a large sum of money, most of which remained untouched in her account. She was working as a nanny and had dreams of using the money to start a horse farm. Despite these leads, neither Bonnie nor Jeremy has been seen since, and their disappearance remains an unsolved mystery.
Foul play is strongly suspected in the case, and the Dages family has been declared legally dead in 1999, though the investigation remains open.
