In the autumn of 1993, a heart-wrenching story began to unfold in Amityville, New York, with the disappearance of a little girl named Tiffany Susan Westford. On November 13, 1993, two-year-old Tiffany was with her non-custodial mother, Marie Catherine Dominique, for a scheduled visit. At two years old, Tiffany was described as an African-American female with black hair and dark brown eyes, standing at 3 feet tall and weighing around 35 pounds. A distinguishing feature was a two- to three-inch scar located just below her navel. When Marie failed to return Tiffany as planned, the young girl's father promptly reported her missing, setting in motion a case that would span decades. The circumstances of Tiffany's disappearance quickly pointed towards a parental abduction. Authorities believe that her mother, Marie Catherine Dominique, intentionally took her. Over a year later, on December 2, 1994, a felony arrest warrant for custodial interference was issued for Marie. At the time of the abduction, Marie was 29 years old, described as a Black female, 5'3" to 5'4" tall, and weighing between 130 and 140 pounds, with black hair and eyes. It is known that she speaks both English and Haitian Creole and had previously been employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Authorities have noted that Marie may use several aliases, including Catherine Dominique, Marie Dominigue, Catherine Sanon, Catherine Westford, or Marie Westford. It is also possible that both she and Tiffany could be using the last names Altidor, Sanon, or Noel. The investigation into Tiffany's whereabouts has faced significant challenges over the years. Law enforcement has explored the possibility that Marie may have taken Tiffany to live within a Haitian-American community somewhere in the United States. Another prevailing theory is that they may have left the country altogether and traveled to Haiti. Despite the efforts of the Suffolk County Police Department and the circulation of age-progressed photos of Tiffany over the years, the case remains unsolved. The lack of public information and concrete leads has created a painful and prolonged search for answers. This case is an overview of a family's enduring hope and a law enforcement agency's continued search for a child who vanished under the complex and distressing circumstances of a family abduction.
