A female with brown hair and brown eyes, Kristina never arrived for her classes that day and has not been seen since. A witness reported seeing a four-door vehicle stop on Kristina's street, where she was observed talking to the male driver for a few moments before getting into the car, which
then drove away. At the time she vanished, she may have been wearing a white shirt, a blue jean jacket, and pink sneakers, and was carrying a backpack with her school books inside. It was later discovered that Kristina had not attended school for the two days prior to her disappearance.
There were some challenges in Kristina's life leading up to her disappearance. According to her mother, she had a difficult time adjusting to a new sibling when she was twelve and, as a young teenager, wanted to date boys, a freedom her mother felt she was too young for. The month before she vanished, Kristina ran away from home after an argument with her mother and was found a week later in Oklahoma. However, her mother stated that they were not fighting at the time of her second and final disappearance. Initially, her case was considered a runaway, but because it is not certain if she left on her own, she is now classified as an endangered missing child. Authorities have noted she may have been with a 22-year-old male companion around the time she went missing.
