Paula Burnette, a 21-year-old woman, was last seen on September 17, 1996, in her hometown of Harrison, Tennessee. At the time of her disappearance, she was in an estranged relationship with her husband, Donald Ray Burnette, with whom she had two children. The relationship had a history of violence, and Paula had expressed fear for her safety.
