Kristy Jean Rogers, a 16-year-old from Crestview, Florida, disappeared in the early morning hours of August 2, 1997. On the evening prior, Kristy had told her family she would be spending the night at a friend's house, but instead stayed at her boyfriend's home. Her boyfriend, Mack Cawthon, reported that Kristy left his house around 5:00 a.m. to avoid being discovered by his grandparents, who lived next door.
