Joseph Morawski, a 72-year-old man suffering from Alzheimer's disease, was last seen on October 6, 1999, near his home on Diamond Avenue in Salem, New Hampshire. He walked away from his residence while his wife was hanging laundry. Morawski, who was known for frequent walks, had previously wandered off but was always found safe, often at local spots like McDonald’s or Dunkin’ Donuts along Route 28 in Methuen or Salem.

At the time of his disappearance, Morawski was wearing a blue baseball cap, a red and gray flannel shirt, black jeans, and a lucky penny pendant engraved with his name and address. He was not believed to be carrying any money but had identification in his wallet. Despite extensive searches, no trace of him has been found. His case remains open, and though foul play is not suspected, his health condition makes him particularly vulnerable.

Given the cold temperatures in the days following his disappearance, authorities believe his chances of survival without shelter were slim. Morawski's disappearance is still unresolved, and authorities continue to seek any information that might help locate him.
