Debra Criqui, a 41-year-old woman, was last seen on the night of November 17, 1999, at her home in Hurst, Texas. That evening, she was with her 16-year-old daughter, who reported seeing her mother at approximately 9:30 PM before they both went to bed. However, when her daughter woke up the next morning, Debra was missing, and the front door to their home was left open. Concerned, her daughter searched the house and found Debra's purse and pager, but Debra was nowhere to be found.
Later that day, the daughter reported her mother missing to a teacher at school.
Investigators found disturbing clues around the home and nearby areas. Bloodstains were discovered near the front door and in an alley between Debra's home and a nearby shopping center. Additional bloodstains were found on the wall of a store within that shopping center. Despite Debra’s car remaining at the house, her whereabouts remained unknown. Debra had missed a court appearance six weeks before her disappearance, and authorities noted her associations with individuals involved in drug-related activities. This led investigators to suspect foul play, though no solid leads have emerged to resolve the case.
