At approximately 4:00 a.m., MacRae made a call to his girlfriend to let her know of their plans. This would be the last time he was heard from. Later that morning, the canoe they were in overturned, leading to a tragic outcome.
The pair had been enjoying the waters near Seattle, Washington, when the incident occurred. MacRae was a white male with brown hair and brown eyes, stood at 5'10', and weighed around 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black windbreaker, a black t-shirt, and dark jeans. He also had two hoop earrings in his left ear. Distinctive features included a left pinky nail painted purple and scars on his right hip, right knee, back, and elbow from cycling.
