Seamus Paddy Murphy, aged 29, was last seen on February 1, 2006, in Eureka, California. Shortly before his disappearance, he had legally changed his name from Michael Joseph Goggin to Seamus Murphy. On February 4, 2006, his truck was found abandoned off Mattole Road near Ferndale, California, south of the Mendocino Lighthouse. The vehicle was discovered down an embankment, but there were no immediate signs of what may have happened to Murphy himself.
