Tamara Elizabeth Toy, 44, was last seen on May 6, 2006, in Bradenton, Florida. At the time, she was living with her boyfriend, Glenn Bivens, at the Budget Inn on Tamiami Trail. Tamara was struggling with addiction to prescription painkillers and had a history of drug abuse, which factored into the later investigation. Her family last heard from her in March 2006, when she sent Easter cards and called her son.
Bivens, who had a criminal history, was arrested on May 13 after a near collision with a police car. His van contained disturbing items, including two shovels, a bloody glove, and other suspicious objects. While in jail, Bivens allegedly told another inmate that Toy had died from a drug overdose and that he had buried her body. Tragically, before authorities could further investigate, Bivens committed suicide by jumping from a second-floor jail balcony.
Although there have been no confirmed discoveries of Tamara's remains, investigators continue to treat the case as one involving foul play. Authorities suspect her disappearance may be linked to her boyfriend, but her body has never been found, and her case remains unsolved.Last Seen: Apr 24, 2006
