Kyla Porter, a 19-year-old from Holiday, Florida, was last seen on February 15, 2008. She called her sister that evening, stating she was at a party and would be home in about an hour. However, she never returned home and has not been heard from since. Kyla had recently moved back to Florida from Georgia after her fiancé was jailed on drug charges, and at the time of her disappearance, she was living with her older sister.
Her family did not report her missing until two weeks after her disappearance, largely because Kyla had a history of leaving for short periods but always stayed in contact. When they did report her missing, the police initially downplayed the case, thinking she had left on her own. However, her family believed something was wrong, especially since she left behind all her personal belongings, including her purse and medication.
There were rumors that Kyla had attended a party in Moon Lake, a swampy area near her home, but this has never been confirmed. Despite multiple searches and interviews with friends and acquaintances, no substantial leads have surfaced. Over the years, foul play has been suspected, but her case remains unsolved, with no persons of interest publicly named by investigators.
