On a day in early March of 1963, 20-year-old Sharon Louise Giusti, a young mother with brown hair and blue eyes, vanished from her family's farm situated about five miles south of Port Townsend, Washington. Also missing were her two young daughters, Michelle Renee, who was nearly two years old, and 10-month-old Clara Arleen. The last day anyone reportedly saw the young mother and her children was March 5, 1963. It was not until four days later, on March 9th, that Sharon's husband, Raymond Giusti, contacted the authorities to report that his wife and daughters were gone. According to Raymond's account to the police, he had been occupied with work in the fields on their farm for the entire afternoon. When he returned to the house, he found it empty. Sharon, their two little girls, the family car, some articles of clothing, and an amount of cash were all missing from the residence. There were some inconsistencies in his story; in one version he claimed to have returned from the fields to find them gone, while in another, he stated he actually witnessed his wife and daughters getting into the car and driving away. The day after the missing persons report was officially filed, the family's car was discovered abandoned. It was found unlocked beneath a highway overpass, located somewhere between one and two miles from the Giusti farm, but there was no trace of Sharon or her children inside or in the surrounding area. The investigation into the disappearance of Sharon and her daughters revealed that her marriage to Raymond was troubled. Relatives informed investigators that Sharon had left her husband on several occasions prior to her disappearance, expressing that she was afraid of him, though she had always returned and reconciled in the past. In the years following the disappearance, life for Raymond Giusti continued; he remarried approximately a year later and remained in the area. Decades passed without any contact from Sharon or her children, and authorities have long suspected foul play, believing it is unlikely they are still alive. The case grew colder with time, and in 2018, Raymond Giusti died by suicide at the age of 88, taking with him any potential answers he may have held. The disappearance of Sharon Giusti and her two young daughters is a haunting case that has remained unsolved for over six decades, leaving a legacy of unanswered questions and the enduring pain of a family lost.
