On that day, he left his home intending to visit his workplace in Freeport, Texas, to check if he still held his job. Rhyne was driving a distinct 1969 Chevrolet 210 pickup truck with a white top, green body, and gold passenger door and fender, bearing Texas plates HR3152. He was never seen or heard from again, and both he and his vehicle disappeared without a trace.
Rhyne had epilepsy and required medication to manage his condition. He also had several notable physical characteristics, including a scar on his forehead and past fractures in his left arm and right hand. Authorities believe that foul play may have been involved in his disappearance, but no definitive answers have emerged over the years.
