Amber left the party around 3:00 a.m. and was last seen being dropped off at her apartment at Plaza Court on Dewar Drive by a friend around 3:30 a.m. After that, she was never seen again.
When her father could not reach her later that day, he reported her missing.
Investigators found no signs of a struggle or forced entry in her apartment. Her purse, wallet, and an uncashed payroll check were left in the kitchen, and her watch was in the bathroom. It appeared that Amber had been working on her monthly budget before she disappeared. Her car, a white 1971 Oldsmobile, was also missing.
