Rex Kelly Spakes, a 32-year-old man, was last seen on May 3, 1992, while fishing off the coast of Port Aransas, Texas. On the day of his disappearance, he was fishing from his 19-foot bass boat approximately five to seven miles offshore. A boater reported having an argument with Spakes after an incident involving a snapped fishing line, which escalated to a verbal exchange with five other men in the nearby boat.
