Shamari Brantley, a 22-year-old woman from Wheaton, Illinois, had been missing since late August 2023. Her family last spoke with her around August 31 before she left their home and ceased all communication. Shamari, who struggled with mental health issues including schizophrenia, had previously disappeared before, but this instance lasted much longer and caused escalating concern.
