Krystyn Dunlap, a 17-year-old from Boise, Idaho, was last seen on October 14, 1994. Before her disappearance, she left a note for her family stating she needed to "get away" but would return in a year. She had a history of running away but always returned home within a week. Friends reported they had some contact with her between October and mid-December 1994, but after that, communication stopped, and she stopped collecting her Social Security benefits, which she had received
following her father's death.
There are suspicions surrounding her then-boyfriend, Charles "Corey" Castro, who was ten years older than Krystyn and allegedly abusive. Castro was one of the last known people to see her before she vanished. Although he was questioned, no solid leads emerged. In 2022, Castro was shot and killed by law enforcement, but his involvement in Krystyn's case remains uncertain.
Krystyn’s case has been classified as an endangered missing person case, and authorities now believe foul play is likely involved. A significant lead in her case involves a 1989 Z28 Camaro, which police believe may be connected to her disappearance.
