In the winter of 2000, a 70-year-old man named Humberto Colon disappeared from his Brooklyn, New York neighborhood. There is some discrepancy in the exact date he was last seen. While his last contact is recorded as December 24, 2000, he was reportedly seen at approximately 11:00 AM on March 10, 2001. On that day, he was in the vicinity of the 540 block of Flushing Avenue in Brooklyn. At the time of his disappearance, Humberto was described as a Hispanic or White/Caucasian male, standing at 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing around 160 pounds. He had gray or partially gray, balding hair and brown eyes. A noticeable scar on his neck was one of his distinguishing physical features. Following his disappearance, the New York City Police Department's Missing Persons Squad launched an investigation under the case number KNMP01900. An extensive search of the area where Humberto was last seen was conducted, but unfortunately, it did not yield any clues as to his whereabouts. Details regarding the specific clothing and accessories he was wearing at the time have not been made publicly available. Similarly, it is unknown if he was on foot or had access to any form of transportation. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain unclear, with no significant leads having surfaced since he was first reported missing. Over two decades have passed since Humberto Colon was last seen, and his case remains unsolved. The lack of any substantial evidence or new information has left his family and the community with unanswered questions. The initial search and investigation efforts by the New York City Police Department did not produce any evidence to indicate what may have happened to him. Despite the passage of time, Humberto's case is still open, a somber reminder of a life interrupted and a family left in limbo. The overview of this case is one of a sudden and unexplained disappearance that, despite initial efforts, has grown cold with very few leads to follow.
