Alesha Brookshier, aged 37, was last seen on September 28, 2008, in Aztec, New Mexico. She was spotted leaving her residence with her ex-husband, Andre Lobato, in her 2000 silver four-door Saturn. Lobato later returned without her, and Brookshier has not been seen since.
Several months after her disappearance, Brookshier's vehicle was found abandoned and burned, with witnesses reporting seeing someone fleeing the scene.
The car's license plates had been swapped, but investigators confirmed the vehicle's identification number matched Brookshier's car. Suspiciously, Lobato never reported her missing, and it wasn't until 2011, nearly two years after she disappeared, that one of her relatives formally filed a missing persons report.
Lobato came under scrutiny for suspicious activity involving financial fraud connected to Brookshier. He was found to have cashed two checks written to Brookshier after her disappearance, altering dates on them. Although fraud charges were brought against him, they were eventually dropped due to insufficient evidence. There has been no activity on Brookshier’s Social Security number since her disappearance, and she left behind two children. Her case remains unsolved, and authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
