Karen Burger, a 56-year-old woman, was last seen on July 25, 2011, in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Karen had told her father she was going out with a man she had met at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, but she never returned home. This raised concerns as it was highly unusual for Karen to leave her small dog behind, which her friends noted was something she would never have done voluntarily.
