Susan Basile, a 12-year-old girl, disappeared on June 10, 1975, from Port Orange, Florida. She was last seen walking home after getting off her school bus. Normally accompanied by a friend, Susan was alone that day. While walking down a dirt road, she was reportedly forced into a dark blue Chevrolet van by two men, one in his twenties and the other older. The van was noted for having orange curtains and the word "Aries" on the side.
Serial killer Gerald Stano later confessed to her murder in 1982. He claimed to have offered Susan a ride and then strangled her, leaving her body in a wooded area. However, no remains were ever found, as the site had been built over by the time investigators searched the location. Despite his confession, Stano was never formally charged with Susan's murder. Her case remains unsolved, and foul play is suspected.
