Charles Morgan Wright III, age 26, disappeared on January 11, 1982, from South San Francisco, California. That day, his yellow 1960s Volkswagen Beetle was found abandoned near the intersection of Chestnut and El Camino Real in South San Francisco. There were no signs of a struggle or any clues left at the scene, and Charles has not been seen or heard from since.
Described as 5'7" and weighing 135 pounds, Charles was a biracial (Caucasian and Hispanic) man with black hair and brown eyes. He had several distinguishing features, including a homemade tattoo of the letter "C" between his thumb and forefinger, crooked teeth, a scar on his leg, and a mole on his face. At the time of his disappearance, he may have been wearing a plaid shirt, jeans, and a green pilot’s jacket.
Despite extensive investigations and the discovery of his abandoned vehicle, no substantial leads have emerged over the decades, leaving his case unsolved. His family listed him as predeceased when his father passed away in 2007, but the mystery of his disappearance remains open.
