At the time, she was employed as a secretary with the Florida Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services. On that day, she left work early, around 3:00 p.m., complaining of feeling unwell. This was the last confirmed sighting of Andrea.
Later that evening, an anonymous caller reported seeing a woman matching her description slumped over the steering wheel of a car in a grocery store parking lot on Dixie Highway. When police responded, they found her car abandoned outside the Winn-Dixie store, but there was no sign of Andrea. Inside the car, her purse was left behind, raising immediate concerns about her safety. Despite extensive investigations, no trace of her has been found since that night.
Andrea was described as standing 5 feet tall, with blonde hair and green eyes. She may have also gone by the last name "Shapiro." At the time of her disappearance, she weighed between 105 to 115 pounds. Despite the passing years and the availability of DNA data, her case remains unsolved, with few additional leads since that fateful night. Law enforcement continues to list her as an endangered missing person, and her case is still open.
