Davette Kathryn Gaunt, a 33-year-old woman from Vista, California, disappeared under suspicious circumstances on January 1, 1993. At the time of her disappearance, Gaunt was involved in a contentious custody battle with her boyfriend, Christopher McDonald, over their two-year-old daughter. Gaunt lived with McDonald at their shared home on Anza Avenue in Vista, but shortly after she was last seen, McDonald moved a new girlfriend into the home.
