Yousef Almetnawy, a 4-year-old boy, was abducted from Euless, Texas, on August 25, 1999, along with his 20-month-old sister, Iman. The abduction was carried out by their non-custodial mother, Ghada Abdel Fattah Said. A felony warrant for Ghada's arrest was issued in November 1999 after she fled with the children, violating the custody agreement with their father, Hisham Almetnawy, and depriving him of his visitation rights.
