Yousef Almetnawy, a 4-year-old boy, was abducted from Euless, Texas, on August 25, 1999, along with his 20-month-old sister, Iman. The abduction was carried out by their non-custodial mother, Ghada Abdel Fattah Said. A felony warrant for Ghada's arrest was issued in November 1999 after she fled with the children, violating the custody agreement with their father, Hisham Almetnawy, and depriving him of his visitation rights.
Ghada, Yousef, and Iman were last known to be traveling in a silver 1989 Honda CRS with Texas license plates. Authorities believe they may have fled to several states, including New York, Tennessee, or California, or possibly left the country for Egypt, where Ghada had familial ties. There is speculation that Ghada may be accompanied by her brother, Yaser Abdel Said, a fugitive wanted for the 2008 murders of his two daughters.
Yousef was born in Bedford, Texas, and at the time of his abduction, he had a distinguishing birthmark near his left ear. Despite efforts to locate them, Yousef and his sister remain missing, and their case is considered unsolved, with concerns for their safety due to the circumstances surrounding the family.
