John Lloyd "Buddy" Heflin, aged 24, was last seen on November 21, 1968, in Starkville, Mississippi. Heflin, who had a history of involvement with questionable associates, was reported missing after leaving his sister's residence. He had been involved in criminal activity and was arrested for burglary in 1967 and later on vagrancy and drug charges in 1968. After being released, Heflin was reportedly dropped off by his mother at a friend’s house, but he never returned home.
