John McMinn, age 26, and his wife, Cordelia, were last seen on May 12, 1976, in Hanalei, Hawaii. They boarded their 25-foot trimaran sailboat, the *Drum*, planning to sail from Hawaii to Washington state. The couple, both experienced sailors, had successfully made the voyage from the mainland U.S. to Hawaii before and were preparing to return to Port Angeles, Washington.
