On May 29, 1981, Barbara Jean Barkley, a 19-year-old woman, mysteriously disappeared while working alone at a pipe furniture store in Pinellas Park, Florida. That morning, a neighbor saw her arrive for her shift at around 10:00 a.m., but by 1:30 p.m., when her brother came to visit, she was gone. At the scene, there were no clear signs of a struggle.
