Raj Mati Narain, a 24-year-old woman originally from Fiji, was last seen in Eugene, Oregon, on September 7, 1987. Raj had moved to the U.S. with her husband, Ashok Narain, after their arranged marriage in 1983. The couple had settled in Eugene and maintained regular contact with their families in Fiji. On September 11, 1987, Raj's torso was discovered in the Lewis River in Washington, and a few days later, her legs were found in the Willamette River in Oregon.
