Garry Elekman, a 27-year-old man from Skokie, Illinois, was last seen on December 1, 1990. He had moved to San Francisco after graduating high school in 1982 and maintained limited contact with his family. His parents would often post personal ads in *The San Francisco Examiner* urging him to call home, but they last heard from him around the time of his disappearance.
