In the winter of 2001, 31-year-old Leigh Ann Bosch embarked on a cross-country journey, driving from St. Charles, Missouri, to a new life in Vancouver, Washington, with her boyfriend. The trip took a turn sometime in late December when the couple reportedly became separated east of The Dalles, Oregon. Leigh Ann was traveling in a black 1991 four-door Nissan Infiniti Q45, distinctive for the temporary Virginia license plates, X247-375, taped to the rear plate bracket.
