In the summer of 2007, a heart-wrenching story began to unfold in the small city of Perryville, Missouri. On July 8th, two-year-old Christian Miguel Sanchez, a young boy with brown hair and brown eyes, vanished. At the time of his disappearance, he was approximately two feet, six inches tall and weighed around 26 pounds. Known affectionately by his nicknames Miguelito and Bubba, Christian was last seen with his younger sister, Veronica. The circumstances surrounding their disappearance pointed to a family abduction, a deeply distressing situation for all involved.

The children were allegedly taken by their non-custodial father, Miguel Sanchez. Just over two weeks later, on July 24, 2007, a felony warrant for kidnapping was issued for him. Authorities believe Miguel may have taken the children to Mexico. At the time, Miguel was 26 years old, described as being 5'4' and 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He has a distinctive sun tattoo on his upper right arm, which covers a scar. It is also believed that he may use the aliases Sanchez Carmona or Carmona Sanchez. They may have been traveling in a white 2000 Ford Windstar minivan with a Missouri license plate number of 320ZTK.

The years that have passed since Christian was last seen have been filled with uncertainty. Christian has a birthmark across his buttocks. In an effort to generate new leads, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has released age-progressed photos to show what he might look like as he has grown older. The case is an active investigation, a painful and prolonged ordeal for those who hold out hope for his safe return. The Perry County Sheriff's Office is the investigating agency, and the search for Christian and his sister continues. The central elements of the case revolve around the alleged parental kidnapping by their father, Miguel Sanchez, the international dimension with a possible location in Mexico, and the ongoing efforts to keep the public aware of Christian's appearance as he ages.
