Raymond Scott Rupp, age 45, was last seen on June 15, 2012, in Palm Harbor, Florida. He left his condo at the Harbor Club Downs Condominiums to get his computer repaired but never returned. Raymond, who was legally blind and did not own a car, relied on others for transportation and had limited mobility due to his vision problems.
Concern grew when neighbors noticed a foul odor emanating from his condo in August.
Authorities investigated and tragically discovered Raymond’s dog had died inside from neglect, but there was no sign of Raymond. His disappearance was reported later in September when his checkbooks were found near a transient camp, and someone other than Raymond had attempted to cash checks from his account.
Raymond was known to provide shelter to homeless individuals, including his roommate, Robert "Bobby" Worden. After Raymond vanished, Worden relocated to Arkansas, where he was later arrested in 2015 for forging Rupp’s checks. Authorities believe Worden’s associates may have more information about Raymond's disappearance, but despite investigations, the case remains unsolved.
