Daniel Edward Thomas was a 29-year-old man originally from the Butte, Montana area who had moved to Portland, Oregon. In December of 2012, he was back in his hometown of Butte, spending time with his family before the holidays. His intention was to return to his home in Portland. Friends and family last had contact with him on December 18, 2012. He was reported missing after he failed to arrive in Oregon and could not be reached.
