Kimberly Jo Evans, 41, was last seen on April 30, 2013, when she left her home in Encinitas, California, carrying a packed carry-on suitcase. On that day, Kimberly, dressed in a green plaid shirt and green shorts, told her mother she would "be back soon" before departing. She took one of her two laptops, her passport, and about $400 in cash but left behind important items such as her medication and another computer. Despite her history of brief disappearances, this time she never returned, and her bank account, which contained nearly $1,000, has remained untouched since.
Kimberly, who had traveled extensively before her disappearance, was known for her interest in natural medicine and her reluctance to take prescribed psychiatric medication. Her mother, who had urged her to take medication, reported her missing two weeks after Kimberly's departure. Authorities suspect that her disappearance could be linked to her mental health struggles and are concerned for her safety. Despite extensive searches and the flagging of her passport, there has been no indication that Kimberly left the country, and her case remains unsolved.
The San Diego County Sheriff's Department continues to investigate the case and requests the public's assistance in locating her.
