JoAnn Benner, a 21-year-old mother of two, disappeared from her home in Bayou George, Florida, on May 14, 1976. Her husband, Gary Benner, claimed she left in the middle of the night and never returned. However, the circumstances surrounding her disappearance raised immediate suspicion, particularly because of conflicting evidence and strange behavior exhibited by her husband.
