In the early summer of 1977, a young man named Samuel Byrd, on the cusp of adulthood, vanished from his life in Hamden, Connecticut. Having just reached the milestone of graduating from Hamden High School, the future should have been stretching out before him. At seventeen or eighteen years old, Samuel was described as being 5'9' tall and weighing around 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
