Michael Henry Brushingham, age 35, was last seen on December 27, 1979, when he left his mother's home in Boynton Beach, Florida. Despite being reported missing a year and a half later, on July 31, 1981, there has been no trace of him since that day. Michael's case has been fraught with suspicions, particularly surrounding his father, David Brushingham Sr. Michael's family believed David Sr. was involved in his disappearance, especially after he made remarks indicating that no one would have to worry about Michael anymore.
The case took an even darker turn when, in March 1980, David Sr. shot and killed his other son, David Jr., after an altercation. Although David Sr. was acquitted of the manslaughter charges in his son's death, he would later be convicted of murdering his sister in 1990. Authorities even conducted a search in David Sr.'s former property in Delray Beach, suspecting Michael's remains might be buried there, but the search yielded no results.
Michael's case remains unsolved, and he is presumed deceased. The Boynton Beach Police Department continues to keep the case open, but no significant developments have emerged since the initial investigation.
