Douglas David Lakin, a 52-year-old man, was last seen around Easter weekend in early April 1981, in Corona, California, near the Mexican border. Originally from Michigan, Lakin had been traveling across the United States in 1980, regularly checking in with his family. In his last known contact, Lakin called his family in Michigan to request money so he could return home, but he was never heard from again.
