Whitney Nicole Sanders, age 21, went missing on September 20, 2013, from Jacksonville, Florida. She was last seen leaving Kelly's Place, a restaurant on King's Road, around 1:30 a.m. She had gone to the restaurant with a friend and was spotted heading across the street to an Exxon gas station but never returned. Her friend received a missed call from Whitney at 5:00 a.m., and she has not been heard from since.
Whitney, who went by the nicknames "Nicky" and "Buttercup," had several distinctive tattoos, including "Buttercup" across her chest and "FSL" on her leg. She lived in the 4100 block of Fairfax Street and had a history of prostitution-related arrests. However, her family stated that it was out of character for her to leave without notifying anyone. Notably, Whitney had been the victim of a robbery and assault just a month before her disappearance, and her family believes this could be linked to her case.
