In early 2024, a 28-year-old man named Brandon Dean Hummel vanished from his home in Atoka, Oklahoma. A member of the Choctaw Nation, Brandon was last seen on January 23 or 24, 2024, leaving his residence located near South Wilson Lane and West Artesian Road. His disappearance was unsettling as he left behind all his personal belongings, including his phone, tablet, clothing, and even his shoes.
At the time he went missing, Brandon was a father to two young children, a six-year-old son and a five-year-old daughter. His mother later shared that he had recently been connecting with new people online, though she hadn't pried for details. Brandon is described as having brown hair, brown eyes, standing around six feet tall, and weighing approximately 180 pounds.
Brandon's body is adorned with numerous distinct tattoos that make him easily identifiable. These include a star on the left side of his neck, a skeleton design on his left hand and fingers, a small heart at the corner of his left eye, and a 'Pac-Man' tattoo in the sideburn area of his left face. He also has a scar on his right jaw/cheek and a barbed wire tattoo on his right shoulder. Due to a history of leaving home without frequent communication, his family did not immediately realize the gravity of the situation. Consequently, about a month passed before he was officially reported as a missing person on February 28, 2024.
The investigation into Brandon Hummel's disappearance is being handled primarily by the Choctaw Nation Lighthorse Police, with assistance from the Bureau of Indian Affairs Missing and Murdered Unit and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
