Shonna Dannette Wesley, a 16-year-old from Dallas, Texas, was last seen on May 29, 1981. On that same day, her two-year-old daughter was found abandoned at a South Oak Cliff apartment complex, wearing only a t-shirt and diaper. The child was not immediately identified and spent about a week in foster care until Shonna's mother came forward to claim her.
Shonna had reportedly planned to meet her boyfriend that day, but after her disappearance, he contacted her family, stating that she was missing along with several of her daughter's clothes. Shonna’s mother filed a missing persons report on June 2, 1981, but has always believed that Shonna would not have left willingly or abandoned her daughter.
Over four decades later, Shonna's case remains unsolved, and her family still seeks answers. Shonna was described as 5'5", 130 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes, and a scar on her head.
